CUTTING WASTE IN CORPORATE OFFICES FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Cut The Waste is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Altamonte Springs, Florida. We help offices send less to landfill. We do this through free waste audits, free staff workshops and free open-access guides. Most office waste is avoidable. The problem is that the people who could fix it don’t have the time, data or know-how. We give them all three at no cost, so going low-waste is easier than staying wasteful.

How We HELP

WHY OFFICE WASTE?

Offices throw away large amounts of paper, single-use cups, food packaging, coffee pods and old electronics. Much of it could be reused, recycled or composted instead. Most workplaces want to do better but don’t know where to start. Recycling rules differ from city to city. Contaminated bins often end up in landfill anyway. Sustainability usually falls to one busy facility manager. We started Cut The Waste in 2025 to close that gap. We measure what an office actually throws away, show the team where the biggest savings are, and hand over free tools to keep the progress going.

WHAT WE DO: ACTIONABLE PROGRAMS

Free Corporate Waste Audits

We visit your office, sort a sample of your trash and recycling, and weigh each category. You then get a short written report. It shows what you throw away most, how much is contaminated, and the three to five changes that would cut the most waste. There is no cost and no obligation, and we never sell or recommend products for commission.

Educational Workshops

We run 45-minute workshops, online or in person, for employees and facility teams. They cover how to sort waste correctly under local recycling rules, how to set up a breakroom without single-use items, and how to run a simple self-audit. Each session ends with a practical checklist the team can use straight away.

Recycling That Actually Gets Recycled

If a recycling bin holds food, liquids or the wrong kind of plastic, the whole load can be sent to landfill. We help offices learn the rules of their local recycling program and set up clearly labeled sorting stations. We also show staff what belongs in each bin, so what goes in the recycling bin actually gets recycled.

Smarter Purchasing 

The best way to cut waste is to stop buying things that end up in the trash. We help purchasing teams compare everyday supplies such as paper, cups, cleaning products and packaging. The goal is to find recycled-content, reusable or compostable options that suit their budget.

Replacing Single-Use Items

Disposable cups, cutlery, coffee pods and snack packaging make up a big share of breakroom waste. We help offices switch to reusable dishware, bulk dispensers and refill systems. We also help them plan the change so it sticks with employees.
